Audacity is tool for recording and editing audio files. It’s a free program that can be used to edit your audio files and to clip together audio files. The software is used by many podcasters and is a great product for editing your audio files.
You can download Audacity at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/
Here’s a short video from YouTube showing you how to use Audacity.

Hi!
I´ve got a problem. When I want to import a file to mix with another there is no Import on File. What´s wrong??
I just found your site – great info! Thank you.
I am hoping you can help me with an alternative to Audio Acrobat.
I know how to create and upload audio using Audacity. It’s a great tool. (Though your demonstration of how to include music is new to me…thanks!)
To publish my audio, I use AudioAcrobat. It’s a great service, but at $240/year I wouldn’t mind finding an alternative. I understand from your ebook about using Archive.org. But my question is how to find code to create a play/pause button on my site. My audio would be archived on a page and I would like to have the ability for visitors to either download the audio to listen or to play it right there on their computer. (I know they can do the right click open as thing, but not all visitors will make it that far.)
Any idea where I can get code to create play and pause buttons the way they do? I’d be willing to buy a solution…assuming it would be a one-time cost and not ongoing like AudioAcrobat.
Any ideas??
